Mellowdrone frontman and M83 touring member Jonathan Bates will return as Big Black Delta with new album 4 on July 10. With this news comes new single and album-opener "Lord Only Knows" which thunders in like an '80s hard rock / metal track -- big riff, bigger drums -- before blending in an ethereal, orchestral soft rock. Or, as Bates puts it, "it starts like Whitesnake and ends like Liberace." The animated video for "Lord Only Knows," directed by Adam Osgood, takes Bates' description to heart. Liberace is there, but so are dinosaurs and aliens, all part of a post apocalyptic landscape.
